Hello all!

Just wanted to send out a big huge THANK YOU, to coming to our pop-up sale, and a very special thank you to Sunday Morning Ice Cream – no better way to enjoy some ice cream than on a Sunday afternoon, in a coffee shop surrounded by some of our favourite books. Here are a few pictures of the set up in case you missed it, and we’ll be looking forward to the next one! Thanks again, happy reading, and a very big HAPPY CANADA DAY this weekend. Keep it a safe one, fellow readers.

Summer Reading Pop-Up – 2013 Edition

by Robyn P. Yager

Well, in case you haven’t been informed yet, it’s official. The 2nd Sons & Lovers Summer Reading Pop-Up is set for this Sunday June 23rd at Revolver Coffee on Cambie Street from 1-4pm, and this year we have help from a very special guest: Sunday Morning Ice Cream! Sunday Morning Ice Cream, is all about small-batch ice cream curated and delivered to your door every Sunday. It is the product of Genevieve Mateyko and we’re so lucky to collaborate with her.

We’re super excited for the event and would be much obliged if you would join us too
because you made last year so much fun.
See you this Sunday!

by Robyn P. Yager

Hi everyone!

Christmas is just around the corner and our lovely book bundles are back for your (or someone else’s) enjoyment. Once again, the bundles consist of five carefully selected classics or modern classics, gift wrapped with twine and a cute library card bookmark listing the titles in the bundle.

Available for $35.00 in Gastown next door to Revolver at their Coffee At Home Pop-Up.

See you soon!

A Good Book Drive

by Robyn P. Yager

Hello Readers!

Have you heard of A Good Book Drive yet? No?? Well, I’ll tell you.

For the month of November – that’s November 1st to 30th, select retailers around theĀ  city will be collecting new copies of favourite kid’s books for the Vancouver literacy program, The Writer’s Exchange.

I think this is such an excellent way to pass down memories of reading and also pass down stories that have impacted us at such a young age.

We haven’t decided on a book yet, but I would encourage you to participate in this Book Drive as well. I don’t think there’s a better way to teach a child something than through a children’s book. I’m all for it.

Book Book Box Locations include:

  • Nelson the Seagull – 315 Carrall Street
  • Collage Collage – 621 Kingsway
  • Dilly Dally – 1161 Commercial Drive
  • Union Wood Company – 503 Railway Street
  • ArtStarts – 808 Richards Street
  • Walrus – 3408 Cambie

More information at A Good Book Drive website and you can also follow them for Good Tweets here.
